Features of our care:
Hahnemann University Hospital has worked for many years to bring high-quality, innovative and effective treatment for patient in our community with hematologic and oncologic diseases.
We provide comprehensive diagnostics on-site with our advanced laboratory and imaging services in order to find the best treatment options for your specific situation. Two inpatient units at Hahnemann are dedicated to hematology/oncology. One unit offers skilled care to all types of patients undergoing treatment for these diseases, while the other unit is specialized for bone marrow transplant patients and immunosuppressed patients. This Controlled Environment Oncology Unit is comprised of 12 laminar airflow rooms, offering the best means to isolate aplastic patients.
Hahnemann offers bone marrow transplant as a treatment modality for leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, myelodysplasia and selected breast cancer patients. We also offer “mini-transplants” with abbreviated conditioning regimens for older patients with hematologic malignancies.
The Hahnemann Transplant Program is unique in offering all four types of transplant: autologous, allogeneic, matched unrelated and a peripheral stem cell program. An important part of Hahnemann’s Transplant Program is educational sessions prior to transplant for both the patient and their family.
The hematology program also works to stay at the forefront on treatment for autoimmune diseases such as aplastic anemia, systemic lupus, erythematosus, hemolytic anemia and Guillain-Barre with high-dose immunoablative cyclophosphamide.
