Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

For parents of premature and critically ill infants, the excitement of bringing a new life into the world is tempered with the anxiety and uncertainty of their child's and tomorrow.

The staff at Hahnemann's Level III Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) offers parents of premature and critically ill patients the comfort of knowing their children are receiving care from specialized nurses and physicians.

Encouraging Infant-Patient Bonding

Parents are welcome to visit the NICU at any time and are encouraged to hold their infant in skin-to-skin contact at the earliest possible opportunity to support bonding.  A cuddling program for newborns is available upon request to families who are unable to come to the nursery.

High-Tech, High-Touch

Our  obstetrics and newborn unit provides parents with some of the most advanced technology and medical treatment.  The unit includes spacious, private-post-partum suites and seven labor and delivery rooms, one of which has a Jacuzzi.

Our unit also features  a 16-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and family waiting areas, all in a warm, home-like setting.
