PHILADELPHIA – Hahnemann University Hospital announces today Richard A. Gambescia, M.D., FACP, has been elected president of its medical staff.  He will serve a two-year term.

As president, Dr. Gambescia will serve as the medical staff’s liaison to hospital administration and represent the medical staff as a member of Hahnemann’s board of governors.

Dr. Gambescia is co-director of Hahnemann’s endoscopy unit.  He is a clinical professor of medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine.

Dr. Gambescia completed his medical school, internship and residency at Hahnemann and a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Miami Medical Center.
