The Science of Infertility…The Art of Hope
The MCP Hahnemann University Division of Fertility and Reproductive Endocrinology recently opened a new Center City clinical location as a part of the new Center for Genetics and Fetal Medicine in the Feinstein Building. The division also has a Bala Cynwyd office on City Avenue. The services include advanced fertility diagnosis and treatments, including in vitro fertilization, ovulation induction, intrauterine insemination and advanced endoscopic surgical and radiologic techniques for fertility purposes. Diagnosis and treatment of female hormonal/endocrine problems such as endometriosis, menstrual irregularity, polycystic ovarian syndrome, excessive hair growth and menopausal problems are also an important part of their specialty. The practice is noted for its caring and personal approach to patients. The director and staff physician, Shahab S. Minassian, MD, is one of 600 board-certified infertility specialists in the U.S. He has nearly 20 years of experience in the field and has treated thousands of patients. As co-director of the nationally recognized Center for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome at MCP Hahnemann University, he is an acknowledged PCOS expert. PCOS is the most common cause of infertility due to ovulation problems. Gina Carroll, RNC, is the patient care coordinator.
