PHILADELPHIA – Hahnemann University Hospital announced today that the institution’s Trauma Center has been reaccredited as a Regional Resource Level I Trauma Center by the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation, a non-profit organization governing trauma centers in Pennsylvania.
“The Trauma Center at Hahnemann University Hospital was Philadelphia’s first adult hospital in Philadelphia to earn this important designation,” stated Michael Halter, Chief Executive Officer, Hahnemann University Hospital. “This accreditation reflects the continuing and unwavering commitment our specialized staff brings in providing a high level of medical and surgical trauma care to our patients.”
Since its opening nearly two decades ago, Hahnemann University Hospital’s Trauma Center has cared for more than 16,000 patients from trauma sites including Philadelphia, Montgomery, Chester, Bucks and Delaware counties.
University MedEvac is jointly operated by Hahnemann University Hospital and Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, PA. University MedEvac currently operates six air medical helicopters strategically located in eastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey. With over 24 years of air transport experience in the region, University MedEvac has flown over 38,000 patient transport flights. |
