PHILADELPHIA (October 10, 2005) – Hahnemann University Hospital announces the addition of anesthesiologist and pain management specialist Wes Prokop, M.D., to the hospital’s full-time medical staff. Dr. Prokop’s special interests include the treatment of neuropathic pain disorders including herpes zoster, postherpetic neuralgia, and complex regional pain syndromes.
A native of Poland, Dr. Prokop comes to Hahnemann from Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania where he completed his fellowship in Pain Management. He completed his anesthesia residency at Drexel University College of Medicine after receiving his medical degree from Medical School of Bialystok in Bialystok, Poland.
Dr. Prokop is an active member of many professional organizations including the International Association for the Study of Pain, American Pain Society, and the International Anesthesia Research Society. He is fluent in English, Polish, and Russian/Ukrainian and other Slavic languages. |
