Coleen Cannon, Director of Communications
April 2005

PHILADELPHIA -- The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and the Gift of Life Donor Program bestowed the Medal of Honor award on Hahnemann for achieving outstanding rates for organ donation, and for exemplary support of families to ensure that they have the opportunity to consider donation as an important end of life decision.  Only three percent of the nation’s hospitals were chosen to receive this prestigious award.
