Hahnemann University Hospital today announced the appointment of Jay Horrow, M.D., M.S., FAHA, as chair of the hospital’s Department of Anesthesiology.
An accomplished academician and clinical research scientist, Dr. Horrow has served Hahnemann University Hospital since 1984, first as director of cardiac anesthesia, then as Clinical Service Chief for Anesthesiology. He left Hahnemann in 1998 to conduct clinical research in the pharmaceutical industry, most recently as Senior Director of Clinical Development for AstraZeneca in Wilmington, Delaware.
A native of Philadelphia and graduate of Princeton University, Dr. Horrow earned his medical doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania and completed an anesthesiology residency and cardiothoracic anesthesia fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Horrow rejoins Drexel University College of Medicine as Professor of Anesthesiology, with a secondary appointment as Professor of Biostatistics and Epidemiology in the Drexel University School of Public Health. Dr. Horrow is author of over 70 peer-reviewed scientific publications, 33 book chapters, and 92 scientific abstracts. He resides with his wife and three children in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania. |
